Colour Scheme Settings

In the Colour Scheme tab of the Settings window, you can change the colour scheme used in the 3D scene. Changes you make to these settings are previewed in the scene so you can easily experiment to see what overlays you prefer. To confirm changes, click the Close button. Click Revert to return to the settings in place when the Settings window was first opened.

The options that can be changed include:

  • The background colour used in the Scene View tab
  • The colour and width used to display well traces
  • The colour and width of mesh edges, together with the width of the line used when a mesh is sliced and the highlight colour used when mesh parts are selected in the scene
  • The colours used for displaying the x, y and z axes
  • Grid line width, style and colour
  • Axes box line width, style and colour
  • Slicer edge width, style and colour

Leapfrog Energy is installed with three colours schemes: Default, Black Background and White Background. The scheme selected in the Schemes list will be used for all new Leapfrog Energy projects and for existing projects when they are next opened. When Leapfrog Energy is first installed on a computer, the Default scheme will be used.

Creating a Custom Colour Scheme

If you do not wish to modify one of the existing colour schemes, you can create a custom colour scheme based on one of the existing schemes. To do this, select which scheme you wish to use as the basis for the new one and click the Add button (). Give the new scheme a name, then start masking changes to its settings. The new colour scheme will be previewed in the scene as you make changes.

Clicking the Revert button while defining a new scheme will delete that new scheme.

Deleting a Colour Scheme

If you wish to delete a colour scheme, click on it in the list and click the Delete button (). To undo this, click the Revert button.

Once you close the Settings window, you cannot recover any deleted colour schemes.

Resetting to Original Colour Schemes

The Reset button:

  • Removes any custom colour schemes, leaving only the Default, Black Background and White Background colour schemes.
  • Resets any changes that have been made to the Default, Black Background and White Background colour schemes.
  • Makes the Default colour scheme the one in use for all new Leapfrog Energy project and for existing projects when they are next opened.

Once you close the Settings window, you cannot recover the deleted colour schemes.
