Import Horizons from GDB Channels
Use this dialog to import one or more horizons from a selected database line into the model with no user intervention. Each selected channel will be imported as a horizon, extended horizontally to the ends of the model at -infinity and +infinity, and snapped into the model. If the horizon intersects the model, it will be saved as a Named horizon <channel name> and any blocks created will also be labeled <channel_name>.
Block properties for each new block will be inherited from the block from which it was derived, resulting in no change in the property distributions of the model.
Import Horizons from GDB Channels dialog options
Source database |
The database containing the line and channels you wish to import. |
Selected line |
The line in the database you wish to import. |
Snap tolerance |
If surface points already exist in the model within <snap distance> of an imported point, the imported point will be adjusted to match the existing point. |
Horizon channels |
A list of channels available in the database. Select one or more channels and click [Add ->] to select them for import |
Selected channels |
The list of channels that have been selected for import. Select one or more of this and click [<- Remove] to deselect them. |
Channel values |
Specify whether the horizon values represent Elevation (positive upward) or Depth (positive downward). |
Application Notes
Both the model and the database must have valid projected coordinate systems defined in order to import data. Dummy values will be ignored. The X,Y coordinates of each point will be projected onto the model section prior to being imported.
Horizons that fail to intersect existing surfaces within the model in at least two locations, after being extended to +/-infinity, will fail to import.
