Digitised (XYZ-DIG) Files

The .XYZ file is a true-xyz extension of the DIG format.

The X- and Y-coordinates of the "limit" points define a vertical plane in model (X,Z)-space onto which the digitised (X,Y,Z) coordinates will be projected to generate the model (X,Z) coordinates.

The calculated model x-coordinates and the z-coordinates of the "limit" points define the "Full" view, as in the DIG import. CVTGMS saves all of the coordinate transform information in the .ECS file, so that the projected (X,Y,Z) coordinates may be recovered when a GM‑SYS model is exported by CVTGMS. This process will "straighten" profiles that "bend" and that the original Y-offset from the profile cannot be recovered.
