Forward Calculation Settings
The Forward Calculation Settings option enables you to set or adjust the parameters that affect the forward calculation results and speed.
To Configure Forward Calculation Settings
-
On the Calculate menu, select Forward Calculation Settings. The Forward Calculation Settings dialog appears.
-
Select the Number of Taylor terms - gravity that you wish to be used in the Taylor expansions for gravity calculations. You may select an odd number of terms, from 1 to 15. The default number of terms is 5.
-
Select the Number of Taylor terms - magnetic that you wish to be used in the Taylor expansions for magnetic calculations. You may select an odd number of terms, from 1 to 15. The default number of terms is 5.
-
Set the FFT expansion percentage to be used in the FFT calculations. The default is 50 percent.
-
Select the Expansion shape. You may select either "Rectangular" or "Square" expansion. The default is rectangular.
-
Select the checkbox for "Don't show this dialog before forward calculation." if you do not want to see this dialog again when running the calculations. It can be accessed through the Calculate menu.
-
Click OK. The settings will be saved in the model.
To Calculate the Forward Gravity Response of the Model
-
On the Calculate menu, select Forward Gravity Calculation. The Forward Calculation Settings dialog appears, unless you've visited the dialog previously and selected the "Don't show this dialog before forward calculation." checkbox.
