Extract GM-SYS 2D Profiles for Editing

Use the Extract GM-SYS 2D Profiles for Editing dialog to extract a series of cross-sections within an Area of Interest to edit the 3D model geometry in that area. Specify an AOI polygon and select the orientation & spacing of the sections. A series of GM-SYS Profile models will be generated along the sections and presented for editing.

Extract GM-SYS 2D Profiles for Editing dialog options

Polygon

Specify an existing polygon that defines the area you wish to edit. Changes to the sections outside of the AOI will be ignored.

AOI name

Specify a unique name to the Area of Interest. By default, it will be the root name of the polygon file.

Section azimuth

Select the orientation of the sections; they must be parallel to the sides of the model.

Section separation

Select the section separation; it must be a multiple of the grid spacing in the model.

Simplify horizons?

If selected, superfluous points will be removed from the horizons in the GM-SYS Profile models.

Straightening tolerance

If removal of an intermediate point causes the line to deflect less than the straightening tolerance, the point can be removed.

Plot profiles on current map

Show the locations of the profiles to be extracted on the current map.

Number of profiles

This read-only field shows the number of sections that will be extracted.
