Open a GM-SYS 3D Model

1. From the GM-SYS 3D menu, select Open 3D Model.
   

   The Open GM-SYS 3D Document dialog appears.

2. Browse and select an existing GM-SYS 3D model to open. You may select either a model with a "geosoft_gmsys3d" extension (GM-SYS 3D model document) or a legacy model with the *.g3d" extension.
   Model documents with the ".geosoft_gmsys3d" extension will open immediately in Oasis montaj.

3. If you select a legacy model, you will be prompted to provide a new model name, and the selected legacy model will be upgraded and opened in Oasis montaj.

Application Notes

The import process will detect and attempt to fix any problems with the legacy model. The priorities are to:

• produce a working model.

• ensure the integrity of the model that is created.

Components of the legacy model that fail validation checks and cannot be easily fixed will be dropped from the imported model. The import log describes any errors encountered and the fixes applied. You may then repair the problem components and manually import them into the model.
