Build the Initial Model

The New Model dialog enables you to create a new model and import or specify the main parameters. All fields in this dialog must be complete for the model to build.

To Build an Initial Model

  1. On the File menu, select New Model (Depth) or New Model (Time). The New Model Creation dialog appears.

  2. Specify the Geologic Strike Angle, if known.

  3. Select to import an Area of Interest from database line, text file, or to create a theoretical model.

  4. Depending on your data, you may need to specify the Profile Origin and Projection.

  5. Confirm the Cross-Section Orientation and Limits fields. These define the “Startup View” for your model after it is created; i.e. the limits of your area of interest.

  6. If required, check Add Anomaly Data to add anomaly data to the model.

  7. Click Create. The new model opens in the model window.

Your model is not saved until you explicitly save it using the File menu or Standard toolbar button.
