Category Column From Numeric Data

When you have numeric data you wish to use with the lithology and category modelling tools, you can convert the numeric data to a category column. To do this, right-click on the numeric data table and select New Column > Category From Numeric. In the window that appears, select the Base Column, then enter a name for the new column. Click OK.

The next step is to sort the numeric data into categories. Leapfrog Geo automatically assigns three categories calculated from the distribution of data. To add a new category, click the Add button and enter the required value.

Click the Open Statistics Tab button to view the distribution of data, which will help in deciding what categories to define.

Click OK to create the new column, which will appear in the project tree as part of the original interval table.
