Structural Data

Leapfrog Geo supports three different types of structural data tables:

  • Planar structural data tables
  • Lineations
  • Triaxial structural trend data represented as ellipsoids, if you are using Seequent Evo

Each type of structural data can be imported into the Structural Modelling folder. All structural data tables in the Structural Modelling folder can be edited in Leapfrog Geo; right-click on a table to see what tools are available.

New planar structural data tables can be created in Leapfrog Geo, and planar structural data can be used to edit many types of modelled surfaces.

Downhole planar structural data and lineations can be imported into drilling datasets, although structural data imported in this way cannot be edited.

Leapfrog Geo calculates strike using the American right-hand rule; when looking in the strike direction, the plane should dip to the right.

See Stereonets and Form Interpolants for information on tools for analysing structural data.
