Principal Component Synthesis

Use the Geochem Analysis > Principal Component Synthesis menu option (CHPCSYNTH GX) to re-synthesize a data set from a subset of its principal components.

Principal Component Synthesis dialog options

Channels to include

"All ASSAY channels" – all channels that are members of the ASSAY class will be reported

"Displayed ASSAY channels" – only displayed channels that are member of the ASSAY class will be reported.

"Select ASSAY channels from list" -- select ASSAY class channels from a two-panel selection list.

Script Parameter: CHPCSYNTH.ASSAYS: "ASSAY", "Displayed ASSAY" or "LIST"

# of components in synthesis

The number of principal components to use when re-synthesizing the data. This number must be less than the number of channels.

Script Parameter: CHPCSYNTH.NMAX

Lines/groups to include

From the drop-down list select, "Displayed line/group only", "Selected lines" or "All lines".

Synthesis will be performed using the collected data from the lines chosen.
