Calculate Area of Closed Polygons

Use the Map Tools > CAD Tools > Calculate Area of Closed Polygons menu option (GROUPAREA GX) to calculate the polygonal area of all polygons contained in a map group.

Select a view\group

Select the View / Group from which to extract polygons. All closed polygons in the group will be extracted and placed in the polygon file. The polygon coordinates will be in the projection of the view. Script Parameter: GROUPAREA.GROUP

Application Notes

The polygonal area of a group is the area enclosed by all polygons in the group. Excluded polygons are subtracted from the total. The area is displayed in a simple dialog.

The area units will be the same as the group coordinate system.
