Split on Fiducial

Use the Split on Fiducial option, (geogxnet.dll(Geosoft.GX.Database.SplitLineAtFid;Run)*), from the Database Tools > Line Tools, to split a line into two lines at a specified fiducial.

The option is also available with the Gravity and Terrain Correction extension under the Moving Platform Gravity > Split Line menu.

Split on Fiducial dialog options

Line to split	Input line name, will be shortened up to Fid. Script Parameter: SPLTLINE.IN
New line	Output line name, will get from FID and higher. Script Parameter: SPLTLINE.OUT
Split at fiducial	Fiducial at which to split the line. Script Parameter: SPLTLINE.FID
Reset fiducial start values to zero	After splitting the line, the fiducial of the first point can be preserved (default) or set to zero . Script Parameter: SPLTLINE. RESET_FID_STARTS[0-No, 1-Yes]

Application Notes

*The GX tool will search in the "...\Geosoft\Desktop Applications \gx" folder. The GX.Net tools, however, are embedded in the geogxnet.dll located in the "...\Geosoft\Desktop Applications \bin" folder. If running this GX interactively, bypassing the menu, first change the folder to point to the "bin" folder, then supply the GX.Net tool in the specified format.

It is often useful to split an existing line into parts. For example, an entire survey flight may be imported as a single line then sub-divided into separate survey lines by displaying the survey trace and using the SPLTLINE GX.
