Modify Line Location
Use the Modify Line Location option (IPLINENUM GX) to alter the internally stored IP line location.
Modify Line Location
Line number |
The current line’s label is displayed. It is this line whose location is displayed and will be modified. |
Location |
Set the internal stored line location to this value. Script Parameter: This GX must be run interactively. |
Application Notes
This tool is intended for 2D IP surveys on a local coordinate system. The station numbers and the line numbers are values along the 2 orthogonal local coordinates.
When a line of data is imported into an IP system line, the line number is stored internally. This is because the line number is used to calculate the (X, Y) coordinates of the electrodes, along with the along-line positions stored in the RX and TX channels. The line number displayed to the user may not be the true "X" or "Y" coordinate, so the correctly scaled internal line number is used for these calculations.
Occasionally, perhaps due to an import error, the internal line number value may be in error, and must be changed in order for the correct locations to be determined for apparent resistivity values (etc.) to be calculated correctly. This GX works on the currently displayed line, and resets this internal value.
