New X, Y Database
Use the IP & Resistivity > Export > New X,Y Database option (IPXY GX) to create a new XY database. Note that this dialog has two different behaviors – depending on the value of the input value "N".
Create New X,Y Database dialog options
Application Notes
This dialog is used to create a new database the X and Y channels and selected channels. If a mask channel is selected, rows where the mask channel is a dummy (*) will not be exported.
Selecting Channels
If the "Select channels" option is chosen for "Channels to output", a dialog appears with 5 spaces to select channels. If more channels are desired, press the "More" button. The X and Y channels are automatically included and need not appear in the list.
Filter Output
If an N value of 0 is selected, the behaviour of this dialog is altered. Instead of copying rows directly to the new database, the pseudo-section function is called to calculate the Fraser-Filtered values of the requested parameters. The filter and its weights are taken from the IP Setup values.
Of course, it makes no sense to filter certain channels, such as station positions, and some (X and Y) are removed from the drop-down list. It is up to the user to select reasonable channels from the remainder.
