Creating a Fence Diagram Plot

The Drillhole Fence Diagram option enables you to plot a fence diagram with geology polygons, based on a current drillhole project (that must include a collar table and a geology table).

To Create a Fence Diagram Plot:

  1. On the DH-Plot menu, click Fence Diagram. The Fence Parameters dialog is displayed.

  2. To select the drillholes to be included in the fence diagram, select the Fence Diagram tab. In the Hole Selection box, you can select the holes to include by clicking the Select from List button, the Pick from Selection Tool button, or by selecting a Hole list file. For more information on these options, click the Help button on the dialog of interest.

  3. To plot geology polygons in the fence diagram, select the Data tab.

  4. The Plot check boxes enable/disable the Data selection dropdown lists. This is a convenient way to select or de-select individual data plots without clearing or re-selecting the data from the Data lists.
  1. Using the Data drop-down lists, select the data channels available in the current Drillhole project you want to plot.

  2. Using the Plot Type drop-down lists, select Geology Polygons.

  3. Plot types displayed are based on the data type of the selected Data. Numeric channel selections include Bar plot, Geology polygons, Numeric bands, Post values, and Profile. String or text channel selections include Comments, Post text, Rock code patterns, and Text bands.
  1. Click the Define button to select your geology table or rock code file and click OK. Then click the OK button on the Fence Parameters dialog. The fence diagram map is displayed.

  2. There are many additional fence diagram options that enable you to include other parameters. As you become more familiar with the system, we recommend that you experiment with the other options to create a custom map of your own.
