Drillhole Section - Reference Grid Tab

Use this tab to specify the parameters for a reference grid displayed on the section plot(s). The Easting and Northing axes plot as vertical lines, and the Elevation, (or Relative Level) axis plots as horizontal lines.

Reference Grid Properties

Plot grid?

Check to plot a reference grid on the map.

  • To select the colour of the reference grid, click in the box to the right of the Plot grid? box. The Colour tool will be displayed.
  • Font

Use the drop-down list to select the font to use to annotate the reference grids.

    Grid Option

Select a grid option (Solid line, Dashed line, Crosses, Border Ticks).

    Attributes (mm)

    Label size

Specify the label size in map sheet units (millimeters)

    Line thickness

Specify the line thickness in map sheet units (millimeters)

    Cross size

Specify the cross size in map sheet units (millimeters). Crosses mark the intersections of the Easting and/or Northing grid axes with the horizontal elevation (Relative Level) grid axes. The cross size is the full length of each bar in the cross.

    Border tick length

Specify the border tick length in map sheet units (millimeters).

    Grid Intervals

    Automatic

Check to display reference grid lines at reasonable interval, calculated using the currently displayed ranges in Easting, Northing or Elevation

    Fixed

Click if you want to specify the reference grid intervals.

Specify the reference grid intervals In the East, North, and Elevation boxes.

    X-scale along sections

The spacing of the Easting or Northing axes is not an accurate indicator of distance along the section, unless the section axis azimuth is a multiple of 90 degrees (i.e. the section runs N-S or E-W). For angled section, you may wish to plot a "true" "X" axis along the section for reference purposes. This axis is plotted in addition to the easting and northing axes, and the axis labels bear an "H" identifier (such as 0 H, 100 H, etc.)

    Plot along section grid?

Check to plot X-scale along section grid.

    Origin at left

Select to plot grid origin at the left. This means axis labels will begin at 0 on the left and increase to the width of the section on the right.

    Origin at center (ref point)

Select to plot grid origin at center. Label values increase both to the left and to the right of the center of the plotted section (there are no "-100 H" labels).

    Grid Interval

Specify the grid interval of X-scale.
