Drillhole Compositing Tool
Use this dialog to specify the parameters for the Compositing tool.
Compositing Tool dialog options
From/To |
Specify the interval over which to determine the composite value. Values of "From" and "To" may be entered manually, or an interval may be selected interactively with the mouse from the strip log map, by pushing the Range button. |
Length |
This is the length of the interval selected, and is equal to the difference between the "From" and "To" values. |
Select |
Click the Range button to interactively select the range of depths from the strip log map, using the mouse. When clicked, the cursor changes to a cross. Click once on any location in the map to define the top or bottom of the interval. The "Box" cursor is then displayed. Move the cursor up or down to the other end of the interval and click a second time to select the full interval. Control is then returned to the compositing tool, and the "From", "To" and Range buttons are updated to the selected interval. In addition, the composite values for any selected data will also be updated. Remember, it is only the vertical locations of the top and bottom of the box which are used; the right and left side locations are ignored. |
Plot |
Click the Options... button to select how the composite value label is to be displayed with the selected data. Click any of the Plot buttons to plot the particular composite value to the selected data on the strip log map. Click the Erase button to erase, in reverse order, the plotted intervals. |
Selected Data |
|
|
Select up to five of the plotted hole graphs to calculate intervals for. The graphs are numbered beginning on the left. |
Composite |
|
|
The composite values are updated whenever the range is altered. A value of 0 is recorded if a string-type channel is selected. For "From-To" datasets, the composite value is determined by summing the products of the value times the length for each of the individual from-to intervals, and then dividing by the full composite length (length-weighting). For "Single-depth" data, the composite is a straight average of the values falling within the composite interval bounds. |
Save to File |
|
|
Click the Browse button to select a CSV file to save the calculated composite intervals to. The following is an example of output to this file:
