Export 3D View to 3D PDF

In the 3D Viewer, use the Export > 3D PDF menu option to export your current 3D View to a standard Adobe PDF file, complete with interactive layer information. This enables you to share your 3D subsurface models with colleagues who do not have Oasis montaj installed. The 3D interactive tools, such as zoom, rotation, layer controls, and transparency are included in the exported PDF files.

The option can also be found on the 3D View pop-up menu.

Application Notes

Exported PDF files can be viewed with Adobe Reader version 7.0 and higher. The latest Adobe Reader can be downloaded from the Adobe web site (http://www.adobe.com).

To prevent overwriting the original PDF file, select the source file, which will be used as a template for inserting the 3D View. Specify the new file name, which will be a duplicate of the source file along with the created 3D view. Then using the Insert view after page up/down stepper buttons, specify the page where the 3D View is to be inserted.

In Oasis montaj 7.5, there is now an option in the third party exporter used to create 3D PDFs called "double-sided rendering", which should greatly improve the amount of memory required for 3D PDF exports. This feature is supported for Adobe Reader version 8.1 and higher. Opening a PDF in an older version of Adobe Reader will not generate an error; it will simply not render the far side of the 3D view.
