Gaussian Filter

Use the Gaussian option to apply a Fast-Fourier Transform Gaussian filter to a channel.

The filter option is available with the following extensions and menus:

Geophysics: 1D FFT > 1D Filtering
Gravity and Terrain Correction: Moving Platform Gravity > Apply Single FFT Filter

Gaussian filter options

Standard Deviation of function
(in ground units)

Standard deviation of function (in ground units).

Script Parameter: FFTGAUSS.STDDEV

Low or High Pass Filter

Select "Low" or "High" Pass filter (Default is Low)

Script Parameter: FFTGAUSS.PASS

Application Notes

The Gaussian filter is another smooth filter that is often used for low-pass or high-pass applications.

Parameters:

k0 Standard deviation of the Gaussian function in cycles/ground_unit (similar to a cutoff except that the function amplitude at this point is only 0.39).

0/1 Specify 0 or 1 for residual or regional, respectively.
