Linear Regression

Use the Database Tools > Filters > Linear Regression menu option (REGRESS GX) to fit a least-square linear regression to a set of marked data in a channel and report the slope and intercept.

Linear Regression dialog options

X channel	The name of the channel to use as the X ordinate in the regression. By default, the "X" channel is used.
Y channel	The channel to use as the Y ordinate in the regression. By default, the channel in which the current mark is placed will be used.

Application Notes

The user must mark a segment of data, or and entire line, before this GX is used. The slope and intercept of a regression line will then be reported. If the entire database is marked, this GX will not work since it cannot perform regression over multiple lines.
