Configure RPS Data

Use the Configure option (RPSCNFIG GX) to carry out channel configuration setups for airborne radiometric data.

Define Raw Data Channels dialog options

RADIOMETRIC COUNTS

Select the following channels from your current RPS database.

  • Cosmic
  • Total Count
  • Potassium
  • Uranium
  • Thorium
  • Upward U

ALTIMETER
  • Radar (metres)
  • Barometric (metres)
  • Temperature (deg C)

Define Output Data Channels dialog options

CORRECTED DATA

Specify the following output channels.

  • Total Count
  • Potassium (%K)
  • Uranium (eU ppm)
  • Thorium (eU ppm)

RATIOS
  • U/TH Concentrations
  • U/K Concentrations
  • TH/K Concentrations

OTHERS

Ground Level Exposure (uR/h)

STP Corrected Altimeter (metres)

Application Notes

WARNING: You must be extremely careful when you set up channels. If you re-use a channel name accidentally, for instance, your processing will not be correct. We recommend that you check your results after each step to make sure that your channel names (as well as your processing values) are correct.

To configure your database, enter the deadtime and input channels in the Define Raw Data Channels dialog. Use the drop-down lists to select from existing channels in your database. Channel names are self-explanatory, for example, select TC_raw for the Total Count field and BALTRAW for the Barometric Altimeter channel. When you are finished, click OK.

The system displays an Define Output Data Channels dialog. Repeat the above procedure for output channels. In the previous dialog, you may have noticed that the drop-down lists displayed a list of all database channels. Now you should see that the drop-down list displays a predefined list of output channels. Although you are free to change the channel names, we strongly recommend you use the predefined names. When you are finished, click OK. The Configure dialog runs and defines all channels.
