Custom Control File
Use this dialog to create a base map from your own custom MAPPLOT control file.
Custom Control File dialog options
Custom MAPPLOT control file |
Specify the name of a custom MAPPLOT control file. A MAPPLOT control file is a text file that contains a script of graphic commands that will annotate your base map. Script Parameter: MAP.CONFILE |
Replace 0 (RPL0) |
You can use the 10 replacement strings "%RPL0%" through"%RPL9%" to pass parameters to your control file. For example, you might use RPL0 to specify the title of your map in a TEXT command. Script Parameter: MAP.RPL0 through MAP.RPL1 |
Application Notes
This process is intended to allow you to create custom map surrounds and annotations to meet your own requirements. The existing etc/figmap.con and etc/fullmap.con, which are used for the "figure" and "map" style layouts, can be used as examples. Note that the replacement strings that apply to these layouts will not be valid in your control file. If you wish to use replacement strings, use %RPL0% through %RPL9%.
Your graphic commands should be limited to how the existing map is annotated and should not use the MDFF command, or modify the coordinate system and location of the Data window in any way.
