Application Notes
Use this GX to add or edit the structure codes. The Structure Codes list file is an example of a class of files called "thematic pattern" files. The structure codes file is similar to a rock codes file, but lacks the specific pattern information for rock codes; only the colours can be set and the fill is solid, not patterned. Structure codes have the following properties:
Description: |
The full name of the pattern. Ex: "quartz vein" |
Code: |
Short-form of the pattern description. This is the value, which typically appears (for instance) in the "Structure code" channel in a drill hole From-To data group. Ex: "QTZVEIN" |
Label: |
Text to use as a short-form in labels, graphs etc. By default, this is the same as the code. Ex: "QTZVEIN" |
Pattern Attributes: |
|
Colour: |
The colour fill colour. If not specified, defaults to black. |
Populate from channel |
Press this button to bring up a list of the available data channels in the currently selected drill project. The currently selected holes in the selected channels are then scanned for all distinct (case-sensitive) items. Those items not currently found in the list of structure codes are automatically added to the structure codes list, with the initial pattern set to solid black. This is a fast way to set up a structure codes file for the first time. |
A rock codes file can be opened as a structure codes file to be edited; however, all pattern information will be ignored when displayed in the editing dialog, and pattern information will be lost when changes are saved.
