Application Notes
The GX begins by listing the groups available for export from the current view in the current map; see Select Map Groups to Export for details on the dialog selection options. Only those groups which are checked as visible (even if they are not currently visible in the map window) are selectable. You may select any number of groups for export. If the map groups are not from the view you want to export, you must reset the current data view. The next step is to pick a name for the output DXF file. If exactly one group is selected, the file name defaults to the map name, with the group name appended. If more than one group is selected, the file name defaults to the map name.
Not all map group items can be exported to a 3D DXF file. If you are exporting from a 3D View, 3D polylines and surfaces are exported. Lines, rectangles, polylines and polygons rendered on a plane in the 3D View are also exported, but most other “2D” features rendered on planes (such as images, symbols and text) are not. Lines, polylines and rectangles are properly located in XYZ when exported from a section map. Non-exportable items include Grids ("AGG_" groups) and Voxels.
