Geosoft database file (*.gdb)

The Oasis montaj database is a file that contains all the data from a single survey project. The main components in the database are elements, channels, fiducial increments, and (survey) lines. Database files have the extension .gdb.

Unlike conventional relational databases, a Geosoft database is an object-oriented database that stores Earth Science data in a form that enables rapid access to data and an efficient storage required by applications that deal with very large volumes of data.
