Save Current Map as ArcGIS MXD

Use the ArcGIS Tools > Save Current Map as MXD menu option (geogxnet.dll(Geosoft.GX.SaveMapAsMXD;Run)*), to save your Map (*.map) file as an ArcGIS MXD (*.mxd) file.

This functionality is only accessible on systems where a licensed copy of either ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Desktop Engine is installed.

New MXD name

Specify the name of the MXD file.

Script Parameter: ARCGIS_SAVEMAPASMXD.MXD

Save for version

Choose a compatible version of ArcGIS for which to save the MXD.

You can save the MXD in a version less than or equal to the version you have currently installed on your system.

Application Notes

*The GX.NET tools are embedded in the geogxnet.dll file located in the \Geosoft\Desktop Applications\bin folder. To run this GX interactively (outside the menu), first navigate to the bin directory and provide the GX.NET tool in the specified format. See the Run GX topic for more guidance.

Only the visible groups and views will be saved to the MXD.

Groups in the Base View as well as 3D views will be turned into custom graphics in the MXD layout, and data groups will be turned into custom layers. The Geosoft Plugin for ArcGIS or the Geosoft Extensions for ArcGIS products are necessary to open and use these MXDs in the ArcGIS Desktop Suite.
