Open/Close Map Managers

To set the open/close state of the Map Manager window for all maps currently open in the workspace, go to the Map menu and click on one of the options below:

  • Open Map Managers: Use this option to open the Map Manager window in all open maps in the current workspace. The maps will automatically resize to accommodate the Map Manager windows.

  • Close Map Managers: Use this option to close the Map Manager window in all open maps in the current workspace. The window will remain displayed as a tab on the left side of the map, and the maps will automatically resize to remove the unused space.

The zoom level or panned state of the map will be preserved when executing either option. However, the map window's aspect ratio changes when the Map Manager window is opened or closed. For example, closing the Map Manager window maintains the vertical extents of the map while increasing the horizontal extents.

All changes to the maps are saved when the maps are closed.

Advanced Setting

You may want to control whether the Map Manager is open or closed by default for all your projects, so you don't need to manually open and resize every single map. To specify whether you want all Map Managers to be open or closed by default when the maps are first opened, go to the Advanced Settings tool and configure the Pin Map Manager attribute in the Map Settings section.
