Airborne Quality Control
Oasis montaj enables you to run complex processing routines rapidly and efficiently. With the Airborne QC geophysical system, you can import multi-channel data from small or large airborne surveys. You can then process it by editing, flight-path recovery, cartographic projections, noise and spike removal, lag and heading corrections, base-station and tie-line levelling, and apply other data reductions to produce a final processed dataset. All of these tasks can be performed interactively or in batch using a single, integrated software system.
The extension provides essential tools for planning airborne surveys and ensuring compliance with basic operational specifications. It includes:
-
Flight path planning tools
-
Survey progress monitoring
-
Streamlined quality control utilities
The Airborne QC tools allow you to perform key tests, including:
-
Altitude deviation
-
Flight path deviation
-
Flight line separation
-
Sample separation
-
Diurnal drift
-
Sensor data noise
The quality control statistical tool generates and prints a statistical report based on operational specifications. A built-in mapping wizard automatically displays quality control results for easy interpretation.
The flight path planning tools help you design a flight line plan tailored to the shape and size of your survey area. Boundary maps of the survey area can be imported from AutoCAD or digitized as polygon files. Planning controls allow you to define the flight line direction, starting reference point, and spacing between lines for the survey area.
Working in

Visualization tools like histograms and scatter plots
This structure ensures that your entire working environment is saved and easily restored.
To begin working with
Open a New Project
-
On the Project menu select New. The New Project dialog will open.
You can also select Create new project from the startup dialog that appears when you launch Oasis montaj. -
In the New Project dialog, specify the name and location for your new project file (*.gpf), then click Save.
-
The new project will open, enabling the main menus, toolbar icons, and the Project Explorer. These visual indicators confirm that the system is ready for use.
Load the Menus
-
On the Project menu, select Manage Menus, or click the Manage Menus icon on the Project Explorer toolbar. The Manage Menus dialog will appear.
-
In Base Menus, expand the Acquisition node, select Airborne QC and click OK. The menus related to the acquisition tool will now appear on the main menu bar.
The menu system is designed to provide quick access to a variety of tools and guide you through the primary processing and filtering workflows.
To automatically load these menus in future projects, specify them in the Default menus field of the General Settings dialog.
Accessing Help
Once the Airborne QC menus are loaded, click the Help button in any dialog opened from these menu items:
-
The reference topic for the current dialog will be displayed.
-
Use the Help Topics tab to navigate to other topics of interest.
