IGRF Calculation
Use the IGRF Calculation option (geosoft.uxo.gxnet.dll(Geosoft.GX.UXO.UxaIgrf;Run)*) from the AGC Expert User > Utilities menu to calculate IGRF magnetic values.
Average Lat/Long for IGRF Calculation dialog options
Site database | Select/enter the site database name, which should be an existing file. Script Parameter:UXANALYZE.GDB |
Longitude channel | Select the longitude channel from the list of channels in the site database. Script Parameter:UXANALYZE.LONGCHAN |
Latitude channel | Select the latitude channel from the list of channels in the site database. Script Parameter:UXANALYZE.LATCHAN |
Call IGRF | Once clicked, it will call IGRF GX in order to calculate the values for the inclination, declination, and field strength. |
Application Notes
This GX determines the average longitude and latitude of the points in the site database, and calls IGRF GX, which calculates the inclination, declination, and field strength. These values will be saved into the workspace to be used in target fitting.
If the entries for site database, or latitude and longitude channels are empty, the latitude and longitude values in IGRF GX should be entered manually.
*The GX tool will search in the gx folder. The GX.Net tools, however, are embedded within the Geosoft.uxo.gxnet.dll located in the bin directory. If running this tool interactively, bypassing the menu, change the folder to point to the bin directory, then ensure the GX.Net tool is supplied in the correct format when called directly.
