Expand Grid

The standard Oasis GX, GRIDXPND, will expand a grid and fill it with dummies to the new expanded region beyond the edges of the old grid. To be sure that you expand it to “good FFT” dimensions, use the menu item “Minimum % to Expand Grid” rather than specifying “ --X”, “…--Y”.

To Expand a Grid

  1. On the GM-SYS 3D Tools menu, select Manual FFT Preparation.

  2. Select Expand Grid. The Expand a Grid dialog appears.

  3. From the Input Grid File drop-down list, select the input grid file. Alternately, you can browse to the file.

  4. In the Expanded Output Grid field, specify the output grid file.

  5. Enter the Minimum Percentage to Expand Grid. The default is 10.0.

  6. From the drop-down list, select the Shape of Output Grid (square or rectangle). The default is square.

  7. Enter the Dimension to Expand To for the X and Y for the input grid.
