Fill Grid Dummies

Replaces all dummies in a grid with valid values determined by interpolation from the valid parts of the grid. The interpolation may either use maximum entropy prediction (the predicted area will have the same spectral look as the valid area), or linear interpolation. The filled area may also be forced to zero at a specified distance from the valid area. The interpolation is always done in such a way that the grid is periodic on its edges.

  • The default parameters that appear in this dialog are different than the defaults used in Automatic FFT Preparation.

    1. On the GM-SYS 3D Tools menu, select Manual FFT Preparation.

    2. Select Fill Grid Dummies. The Fill Grid Dummy Areas by Interpolation dialog appears.

    3. From the Input Grid File drop-down list, select the input grid file. Alternately, you can browse to the file.

    4. In the Output Filled Grid File field, specify the output grid file.

    5. From the drop-down list, select a Square or Linear Roll Off Method.

    6. Enter the Distance at Which to Roll to 0. The default is twice the width of the narrowest dummy border of the grid.

    7. Enter the Maximum prediction filter length. The default is 0.

    8. Enter the Maximum area to define filter. The default is 0.

    9. Enter the Roll Off Base. If blank, the statistical mean of the grid is used.

    10. Enter the Maximum grid amplitude allowed. The default is NO limit.

    11. Enter the Maximum edge amplitude allowed. The default is NO limit.

    12. Enter the Width from edge to start limiting. The default = 10 if ELIMIT is set.

    13. Enter the Number of Convolution passes. The default is 1.

    14. Click OK. If the output file already exists, you will be asked to overwrite it. The requested changes are made.
