Profile Origin/Azimuth for 2D Surveys
The Profile Origin/Azimuth dialog enables you to specify the orientation of the section onto which the traces will be projected for Raster and Grid output and the placement of the traces relative to an (arbitrary) origin on that section. The distance axis values are calculated relative to the origin specified.
By default, the SEG-Y file is projected onto a vertical plane passing through the endpoints of the SEG-Y file, with the origin coinciding with the first trace location. You may over-ride the calculated origin and azimuth by entering them manually in the fields below. Or, you may elect to load an existing GM-SYS Profile Modelling model, in which case the origin and azimuth of the model will be used.
The bitmap will be annotated with along-line distance at the top, depth or time on the vertical axis, and shot point number along the bottom axis.
If there are no coordinates specified for the SEG-Y file, either in the trace headers or as an external NAV file, the section will be oriented with an azimuth of 0 (North) and the distance axis will be annotated with trace numbers.
