Shot Point

The Shot Point dialog allows you to specify the byte-offset and data format of the trace header field that contains the shot point number. The default location and format for the Shot Point is at offset 16, 4-byte integer. Shot Point information is used in two places: 1) Navigation files use this field to map ground coordinates to traces and 2) Shot Point annotations are placed along the bottom (horizontal) axis of 2D profiles exported as raster files.

  • Use the TraceViewer to examine the trace headers and select the appropriate byte-offset and data format to use.
