Trace Order

This option enables you to specify the ordering of traces in the generated 2D section, in the absence of coordinate information. If no trace coordinates are available, the default behavior is that traces are displayed in the order they are read. You may optionally override this by selecting a trace header field by which the traces will be ordered (e.g. Trace Sequence Number). Use the TraceViewer to examine the trace headers and select the appropriate byte-offset and data format to use.

In most cases, either trace coordinates are available or the default behavior is correct.

To Set Trace Order

1. On the Configure tab, click SEG-Y Config.

2. Click Trace Order. The Trace Order dialog appears.

3. Select Sequentially or By  Field Value.

4. If selecting By Field Value, specify the Byte Offset.

5. From the Data Format drop-down list, select the correct data format.

6. Click Apply to save the changes.
