Constant Density Inversion

The Calculate > Constant Density Inversion function (GMS3RHOI GX) performs a single density inversion on a GM-SYS 3D model layer. This dialog recalculates the error grid cell by cell and does an estimate of the density for all cells, then averages them to get an overall density change. You must then recalculate the model to reflect this change in the calculated anomaly.

Constant Density Inversion Options

Inversion layer

Drop down list of the model’s surface grids. Calculates the optimum single density for the chosen layer which minimizes the misfit.

Regional offset

This constant will be subtracted from the observed gravity before inverting.

Application Notes

Inversion is not supported if the density distribution of the layer to be inverted, or of the layer above, is a 3D distribution defined by a voxel.
