Extract Layer from Profile Models
Use the Extract Layer from Profile Models menu option to select a "Layer" common to a selected group of GM-SYS Profile models and extract the geometry and gravity and/or magnetic response of the specified layer to a new database. Select the two horizons that represent the top and bottom of the layer in every model.
Extract Layer from Profile Models dialog options
Output database |
Specify an output database name. This database contains the layer information. Each model is represented by a database line. |
Sample model at |
Select either gravity station or magnetic station locations. Calculations will be performed only at these locations. |
Top of layer |
Select the horizon that represents the top of the layer. |
Bottom of layer |
Select the horizon that represents the bottom of the layer. |
Gravity channel prefix |
Specify a prefix to generate the gravity output channels: <prefix>_Layer, <prefix>_Obs, and <prefix>_Calc. |
Magnetic channel prefix |
Specify a prefix to generate the magnetic output channels: <prefix>_Layer, <prefix>_Obs, and <prefix>_Calc. |
[Active Models] |
Click the Active Models button, to open the Select Active Models dialog, which enables you to specify which models in your workspace are designated as "Active" and will be processed. |
Application Notes
A "layer" in a GM-SYS Profile model is a collection of one or more contiguous blocks that together span the width of the model and should define a relevant geologic or geophysical unit. The layer is defined by upper and lower horizons that extend continuously across the width of the model and do not cross. All blocks between the horizons are included in the layer.
If you wish to calculate the Gravity response of the layer, supply a gravity channel prefix. Provide the Magnetic channel prefix to calculate the magnetic response.
