Measure Distance

Use the Measure Distance option to measure the distance between points on a map. Oasis montaj provides two views in maps (Base and Data) meaning that you can either measure in paper units (typically millimetres) or ground units depending on which view is selected. The default view is the Data view. You can change to Base view by right-clicking on a map and selecting Views/Base from the popup menu.

To measure a map:

  1. Open and select (highlight) a map in your project.  While hovering over the open map, click the right mouse button and select Measure Distance from the popup menu. Your cursor will change to a cross-hair ().

  2. Click the left mouse button to locate the starting point.

  3. Click the left mouse button to locate the ending point.

  4. The system displays the distance in the lower left corner of the map window.

  5. If required, you can calculate cumulative distances (on a polyline, for example) by clicking the left mouse button repeatedly. When finished, click the right mouse button and select Done from the popup menu.
