Print

Use the Project > Print menu option to specify how you want your print job to appear and to send a job to the printer.

Print dialog options

Select Region to Plot

Viewed Area

Select the Viewed Area radio button to print only the area currently displayed on the map.

Entire Map

Select the Entire Map radio button to print the entire area of the map.

Panels

All

Select the All radio button to print all of the panels of the currently selected map.

Range

Select the Range radio button to print only a specified range of panels of the currently selected map.

Panel overlap (mm)

Specify the panel overlap in map units (millimetres).

Plot Scale

Fit to Page

Select the Fit to page radio button to fit your map to the current page size.

Scale

Select the Scale radio button to use a specified scale factor to print your map.

Specify the Scale Factor (default is 1) to print your map.

Fit On Roll

Check to Fit on roll (for plotters).

Options

Print to File

Check the Print to file box to print your map to a file.

Copies

Specify the number of copies of your map to print.

Centre On Page

Check Centre on page to centre the plot on the page.

Offset (mm) X Y

Specify the offset for the X and Y values.

To Print a Map:

  1. Select (highlight) the map that you would like to print.

  2. On the Project > Print menu, select Print. The Print dialog is displayed.

  3. Use the Name drop-down list to select the print configuration. Note that the configuration sets the Print Mode, Colour Scaling, and Options parameters. Click the buttons, Change Config, Add Config or Set as default to modify, add and set the default configuration.  

  4. Specify the region you want to print: current Viewed Area or the Entire Map.

  5. Specify the plot scale. To maintain the map scale, select the Scale Factor option and specify a value, (1 = 100 per cent). If you use this option, the map may require more than one page depending on the media to which you are printing or plotting.

  6. If the plot is being panelled, specify either the All panels option or the Range of panels option to print. If you are printing multiple panels, you can specify an overlap in mm. This helps you to match panels later.

  7. Specify the number of Copies to be printed.

  8. If required, select the Print to File option box and specify a filename.

  9. Select the Centre on Page option box to centre the plot on the page. To centre the plot on a paper roll select the Fit On Roll option box.

  10. To move the map from its origin (lower left corner of page or plot), specify an Offset distance in mm.

  11. Click the Print button to send the map or plot to the currently configured printer or plotter.
