Import ArcGIS MXD as Map
Use the ArcGIS Tools > Import ArcGIS MXD as Map menu option (geogxnet.dll(Geosoft.GX.SaveMXDAsMap;Run)*), to import an MXD file as a Geosoft Map (*.map) file.
This functionality is only accessible on systems where a licensed copy of either ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Desktop Engine is installed.

Application Notes
*The GX.NET tools are embedded in the geogxnet.dll file located in the "...\Geosoft\Desktop Applications \bin" folder. If running this GX interactively, bypassing the menu, first change the folder to point to the "bin" directory, then supply the GX.NET tool in the specified format. See the topic Run GX for more details on running a GX.NET interactively.
Only the currently visible layers in the MXD will be saved to the map. If the MXD window is in Data Frame mode, only the visible layers in that frame will be saved to the map.
During scripting, the following parameter can be used to select whether only the current data frame or the whole MXD should be saved:
Extra Script Parameter: ARCGIS_SAVEMXDASMAP.FOCUSMAP - 1 or 0
