To specify the transparency of the 3D assays:
The transparency of the 3D Assays layer can be adjusted interactively by moving the slider on the Transparency bar. To increase the transparency, slide the bar to the right, and to decrease the transparency, slide the bar to the left.
To determine the source Drillhole Project:
The source drillhole project name used for plotting the 3D assays is listed below the Transparency slider.
To determine the source colour channel:
The source channel name used for plotting the colour of the 3D assays is listed below the Transparency slider. This cannot be changed by editing the assays layer; a new layer must be created.
To access and change the colour options:
Click on the Edit Assays button to open the Edit Assays dialog.
-
The colour Option selection indicates if the symbols were plotted with a specific unchanging colour or based on selected Channel data values, Colours scheme and Method.
-
Click inside the Colour box if option is Fixed, to display the Colour dialog. Using this tool, you can select a colour from the basic colour table or by clicking the Define Custom Colours>> button you can specify a custom colour.
-
Click inside the Colours box if option is Variable, to display the Select Colour Scheme dialog. To modify the selection, navigate through the colour scheme categories, select a field and click OK. Select a colour method to be used with the selected colour scheme and check Reverse colour distribution to reverse the distribution order of the selected colour scheme. Selecting a colour scheme file with the extension *.zon or *.itr will hide the colour Method option and remove the parameter altogether in the Attributes panel.
To determine the source size channel:
The source channel name used for plotting the size of the 3D assays is listed below the Transparency slider. This cannot be changed by editing the Assays layer, a new layer must be created.
To access and change the size options:
Click on the Edit Assays button to open the Edit Assays dialog.
-
The Size option selection indicates if the symbols plotted are fixed in size or sized in proportion to selected Channel data values.
-
If the Proportional option is selected, check Use log scale if log distribution is desired for plotting proportionally sized symbols.
-
Specify a different size /scale, and use the Calculator button to reset the field to the default estimated value.
Application Notes
-
Clicking the Edit Assays button will prompt to locate the source drillhole Project (listed in the Attributes panel) if it is not currently open.
-
Editing the selected 3D Drillhole group and clicking OK, redraws the 3D Assays group in the 3D View, and also updates the read-only parameters in the Attributes panel.
-
3D Drillholes groups generated prior to version 9.1 will continue to appear in the 3D Manager tree with vector icons and with limited information displayed in the Attributes panel (Transparency slider and Colour control button). 3D assays that were generated post-9.1 will provide additional, more detailed information in the Attributes panel. The 3D Drillholes groups are backwards compatible; however, the information in the Attributes panel will be limited to that of the previous versions.
