What is an Oasis montaj Project?
Create a Project
-
On the Project menu select New. The New Project dialog opens. Locate your project folder (i.e., the folder that contains your project data) and then specify a name for your Project. Oasis montaj will automatically look for your data in the folder containing this project.
-
Click Save. Your new Project file (*.gpf) is created, and the Oasis montaj workspace displays the main menus and the Project Explorer.
Open a Project
-
On the Project menu select Open. The Open Project dialog appears.
-
Select the Project file (*.gpf) to open and click the Open button.
-
On the Project menu, select Open and the Open Project dialog will be displayed.
-
Using the files of type drop-down list, select Workspaces (*.gws) and when asked if you want to convert the old workspace into a new Oasis montaj project file, select Yes.
-
The workspace file will be converted to a project file and all associated workspace information will be transferred to the new project file.
-
The project is opened and any associated data (e.g., databases, maps, grids, etc.) are displayed in the Project Explorer. The process also enables the buttons on the main toolbar and adds menus — these visual clues indicate that you are ready to start working with the system.
Open Older Workspace (*.gws) Files
Workspace files (*.gws) used in Oasis montaj prior to version 6.0 can be easily converted to Project files (*.gpf) simply by opening them in Oasis montaj 6.0 or greater.
Save a Project
On the Project menu select the Save option, or click the Save Project icon on the Project Explorer toolbar. The project is saved.
Save a Project with a New Name
-
On the Project menu click Save As. The Save Project As dialog is displayed.
-
Specify a new name for your current project. Click the Save button. The current project configuration will be saved with the new project name.
-
When you open the new project, your databases and maps will appear exactly as they were in the original project.
Close a Project
-
On the Project menu select Close.
-
The Save Modified Documents dialog will be displayed if there are unsaved changes.
-
Use the dialog to save your files in your project directory.
Save Modified Documents Options
All
Click the All button to save all the files in the "display" window.
None
Click the None button to save none of the files listed in the "display" window.
Selected
Click the Selected button to save only the files selected (highlighted) in the "display" window.
- The project closes and when you reopen the project, all your databases and maps will appear exactly as you left them.
