Export Multiple Maps

Use the Map > Export Multiple Maps menu option to export Geosoft maps to supported formats. The Export Multiple Maps tool provides a simplified map export process to move data, grids, and images easily to other software systems.

Export Multiple Maps dialog options

Input map(s)

Select a single map through the drop-down or multiple maps through the browse button.

Output format

Select one of the supported formats:

  • Enhanced Metafile (*.emf)

Colour depth

Several colour depth options will be available depending on which output format is selected:

  • Monochrome (1-bit)
  • 16 Colour (4-bit)
  • 16 Grey (4-bit)
  • 256 Colour (8-bit)
  • 256 Grey (8-bit)
  • True Colour (24-bit)

Image resolution

Select the image resolution depending on your output file needs. If you choose a resolution that is too high, the export may not be supported if the output file size is too large. The default is 300 dots per inch (dpi).

Output file prefix

A prefix can be defined for the output file(s). An underscore will be added after the defined prefix.

Output folder

Specify a folder location for the output files to be saved. If an output folder is not defined, the file(s) will be saved in the current project folder.

Overwrite existing files

If selected, existing files will be overwritten.

Application Notes

The full extents of the selected map(s) are used on export. To export the viewed region (the currently displayed area) of an individual map, or a specified area or a selected group of the map, use the Export Map option.
