Once signed in, the licensing-based service enables access to your Oasis montaj or stand-alone Target application.

Seequent ID and Seequent Connector

When you launch the application, if you haven't signed in yet, you'll be prompted to sign in to Seequent Connector using your Seequent ID. Authentication occurs through a browser window when signing in with a Seequent ID. Seequent Connector manages the authentication and authorization needed to run your application and requires an internet connection.

You can access the Seequent Connector via its icon in the system tray, which opens the pop-up menu with options such as Sign In/Sign Out. See the linked topics below to explore other available features of the system tray application.

Sign In Process

When you sign in successfully, Seequent Connector generates session token valid for 24 hours. You won’t need to sign in again unless you manually sign out or get signed out.

Automatic Token Renewal

After eight hours (with 17 hours remaining before expiration), Seequent Connector attempts to renew the session token (with id.seequent.systems) every five minutes:

  • If renewal succeeds, the session extends for another 24 hours.
  • If the validation does not occur before the expiry, you will be signed out of Seequent Connector when the token expires and prompted to sign in upon opening a Geosoft desktop application.

Closing and reopening the application does not renew the token.

"Remember Me” Option

When selected on the Seequent ID password screen, this option creates a persistent cookie valid for 30 days. This means:

  • If prompted to sign in via the default browser window, you won’t need to re-enter your credentials.

  • If you sign out manually or the token expires, the cookie is cleared.

“Remember Me” does not store your email or password.

Disconnected Usage & Email Sign In

  • If you sign in while online but later disconnect, the token cannot be renewed; however, you will not be signed out unless you reconnect.

  • If you sign in by email, you will need to re-enter your credentials upon reconnecting.

When working offline, you can disable the automatic license check-in:

  • Open the the Seequent Connector menu.

  • Select Turn off Internet Connection Check – this will supersede Connector's automatic check for connection state and prevents the system from auto-reconnecting when detecting intermittent connectivity.

  • When back online, uncheck the option to restore the default connection behaviour.

Transition from Geosoft ID and Geosoft Connect

  • Seequent ID replaced Geosoft ID in October 2019. If you haven’t updated your Geosoft ID, reset your password to convert it into a Seequent ID.

  • Seequent Connector replaced Geosoft Connect in November 2020. If you still have Geosoft Connect installed, update to Seequent Connector and sign with your Seequent ID. To download the latest Seequent Connector, visit About Seequent ID
