Strip Logs - Appearance

Summary

Use the Appearance tab of the Strip Logs tool to modify the appearance of selected data in the strip log report.

Usage

Choose a single layout frame to modify the appearance for. This could be a Chart frame, or a Map frame - depending on the type of frame selected will give slightly different options.

For Chart frames, you are able to quickly change the color to use on Bar or Line charts for each selected Attribute. To modify any of the other appearance aspects of a Chart frame, such as Chart title, X or Y Axes titles, or size of the Axes labels, click the Chart Properties button to open the dialog for that chart.

For Map Frames, which contain rock or categorical data plots, you are able to modify the following items:

  • Show or hide the Collar symbol, and turn on or off the Label of the hole.

  • Show or hide the drillhole trace line.

  • Show or hide the depth ticks or marks, and their labels.

  • For each selected text attribute, you can:

    • adjust the size (width) of the data strip.

    • offset it away from the central trace line. This is useful if you have two or more text attributes displayed in the same strip.

    • show or hide an automatically generated legend for the data strip.

Technical Notes

Depth Ticks

Depth tick intervals for Bar and Line charts are automatically determined by ArcGIS Pro, and cannot be changed or adjusted. If you use a combination of both Bar and Line charts, the depth ticks will not use the same increment. In this case, you may want to decrease the size of the labels using the Chart properties dialog, and use only the depth tick markers on the Lithology Data strip.

Also note that due to differences between ArcGIS Pro 2.5 and 2.6, these depth ticks will appear as negative in ArcGIS Pro 2.5 and as positive in ArcGIS Pro 2.6.
