Strip Logs - Data Strips
Summary
Use the Data Strips tab of the Strip Logs to select the data source and attributes or fields to place into the layout frames. This tab controls which data will show up in each of the frames on the layout.
Usage
After selecting a layout and specifying a drillhole, the next step is to begin populating the various layout frames with data. For each of the available Map and Chart frames that are found on the layout, a row will appear on this tab, showing the name of the frames on the left side.
First, select the Data Source: this list shows all of the available downhole feature classes that could contain data to be plotted. If a feature class does not contain any numeric or text attributes (in addition to the depth intervals), that feature class would not be listed here. For example, Collar and Survey are excluded.
Next, select the Attribute (or Attributes) that you wish to show in each 'strip'. Recall that Map frames are used to present categorical data, and Chart frames are used to show numerical data. For each of these types of layout frames, you will only see the appropriate attributes listed in the Attribute(s) dropdown.
Lastly, select the Plot type. For numeric data in Chart frames, this can be either Line or Bar charts. For text or categorical data, this is always Rock Type. This is a color-coded representation of the text values down the hole trace.
Parameters

Hole to Plot |
This is an informational field only. It displays the hole selected in the Layout tab. |

Layout Frame | This is a contextual parameter. All Chart frames and Map frames (e.g. Lithology Data Strips) that are contained in the current Layout are listed on the left side (as a text label only). | ||||||

Technical Notes
Chart Frames
All numeric attributes (e.g. assays) are available to plot in the Chart frames. You can select multiple attributes per Chart frame, but each frame can only be of type "bar" or "line".
Map Frames
Categorical attributes (like rock codes or other text attributes) are available for plot in Map frames, by example lithology values as lithology data strips. Multiple category fields for lithology data can be selected to display in a Map frame.
Note that you can select multiple attributes for Map frames, just as you can for Chart frames. By default, these will all plot at the same centered location on the drillhole trace, but in the Appearance tab you can easily 'offset' each of the attributes to the left or right of the trace.
