Application Notes

In order to edit the existing polygons on a map, the user will invoke the Adjust GX from the menu, enter the required parameters, and click OK to start the process. If there is no current map in the Oasis montaj workspace, the GX will prompt the user to select an existing map.

The polygon adjust GX needs continuous user interaction. Once the OK button is pressed, the map with the polygons is opened. Then, the control is passed to the user to interactively select the polygon(s) and modify them.

In order to adjust polygons, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the polygon to adjust by clicking somewhere inside the polygon. The map will be zoomed in to fit the polygon into the window,

  2. Depending on whether the polygon nodes need to be moved or the entire polygon to be redrawn, follow one of the following paths:

    • Moving individual nodes

      • Select a polygon node,

      • Select the new location for the node,

    • Redraw the polygon

      • Pick the new nodes for the polygon,

  3. Right click Done to save the changes into the target database, or Esc to abandon the changes, and

  4. Select another polygon, or right click Done to exit.

Upon accepting the changes, the polygon file located in the polygon folder will be backed up first and then updated with changes.
