Using the Binary Header Tool

Use this tool to view the 400-byte binary header. The Binary Header specifies the formatting of the SEG-Y file and some of the processing parameters. Here you may verify trace-data format and review processing, fold, and measurement system information.

To run the SEG-Y Binary Header Tool

  1. On the Explore menu, select Binary Header. The Binary Header tool opens.

  2. Confirm your header information.

  3. Close the Binary Header window when finished. You are returned to SEG-Y.
