Resolve Layer Crossings

This dialog is triggered when the process of adding a new layer, or of modifying an existing layer, will cause one or more layer relief surfaces to cross, if not corrected. The dialog identifies the layers crossed and provides options for resolving the conflicts. In order for the change to proceed, you must resolve any conflicts or cancel the operation.

Crossings may be resolved by adjusting the new/changed relief surface, or by adjusting (i.e. clipping) one or more existing layers in the model. The dialog is divided into two sections: crossings above the new or changed layer, and crossings below the new or changed layer.

Resolve Layer Crossings dialog options

Clip to

A list of layers crossed above the new layer which may be used to clip the new layer. You may also elect to adjust all layers to fit, which means clipping the model layers to the new layer.

New layer

The layer being added or edited (read-only)

Clip to

A list of layers crossed below the new layer which may be used to clip the new layer. You may also elect to adjust all layers to fit, which means clipping the model layers to the new layer.

If potential crossings were not identified on both sides of the affected layer, you may only see one set of Clip to options.
