Edit Colour Legend

Legends for most 3D objects appear on the third tab of the 3D Manager tool. Use the Edit Legend button to open and edit the colour legend of the currently selected object.

Edit Legend dialog options

Font size (mm)

The font size of the text for the colour range values. The labels are plotted to the left of the legend boxes.

Decimals

Number of decimals to show in the legend.

Box height (mm)

The height of the colour box. The box height can be used to control the overall height of the colour legend. If the Maximum height is set, and the product of the colour box height and the number of zones exceeds the maximum height, then this value will be reduced to that necessary to fit inside the maximum height value.

Box width (mm)

The width of the colour boxes.

Maximum height (mm)

If specified, the total height and number of the colour boxes might be reduced to fit inside this value (see Colour box height above).

Post min/max

If checked, the minimum and maximum colour range values of the source data set are displayed at the ends of the colour bar.

Application Notes

Note that these options only affect the way in which the legend information is displayed in the Legend tab; to change the colours that are used, click the Edit button that is associated with the object type (e.g. Colour Tool for voxels and grids, Edit Symbols for 3D symbols, Edit Collars for drillhole collars etc.)

There are two styles of legend: Colour legend and Category legend. For more information about the Category legend, see the Edit Category Legend topic.
