New Map from Lat, Long

Use the New Map from Lat, Long dialog to finalise creating a new blank map based on a data range of latitudes and longitudes specified. The empty map will be opened in a new window.

New Map from Lat, Long dialog options

Map name	Specify the name of the new map.
Map template	Select a standard template to be used to define the map layout. The map layout includes the media size, map margins and basic map drawing style. The [Templates] button will enable you to modify existing templates and add your own new templates.
Map scale	Specify the desired map scale. If left blank, a default scale will be chosen to fit the data range to the specified template. The [Scale] button will calculate and display the default scale, which can be modified to an appropriate scale, if desired.
Coordinate system	Displays the current projected coordinate system.
Distance unit	Displays the units of measure for the current projected coordinate system.
[Templates]	Click the button to open the MAPPLOT Template Manager dialog to modify an existing template or create a new template.
